There are ton of companies that you can go thru. My case was worse than yours, I am on EAD with expired visa. I already had a house on which I was trying to get the loan modification and when going through that process my credit was screwed up. There was no way I could have got the loan from BOFA or chase or any other big names. I went thru a very small loan servicing company who service the loan and make a portfolio of loans and sell to big banks. Even with that small company it was almost impossible but my loan officer got it thru and finally we moved into a new house then.
So bottom line , kick the lame a** loan officer and look for someone else.

From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. all visa number (for FY-2007) are used up. They were made available to USCIS by DoS.

There is something fishy. Its not possible that he could apply for 485 with the PD of September 2006 in June 2007 . Only people with priority date with June 2003 and earlier could apply. I know this because our PD is July 2003 and we applied only in July 2007. Please people stop this.
Since your PD is June 2003, you could have applied in June 2007 because in June Visa bulletin(released in May ) it moved till April 2004.

We can request participation from other ethnic organizations, but that would be minimal unless they are victims of July VB bulletin.
If the cause was overall legal immigration, certainly we can request/demand such participation.

There seems to be 2 different opions about the process after CIS has received hundreds of thousands of applications until Aug 17th.
1. Once received, CIS cannot sort out the applications according to PD, so only RD is important.
2. PD is still an important factor, so if CIS is stuck with tons of applications on their hand, they will prioritize them by PD, which means if you have PD Dec 2004 and RD Jul 25 2007, you will be approved earlier than someone with PD Mar 2005 and RD Jul 2 2007.
Greg Siskind, an immigration lawyer known to most folks here for his blog, says in his new FAQs that CIS should work on by PD.

My lawyer told me that they are working on something to accept all applications which reached on july ... lets hope he is right.

Which means that EAD is much safer than H1b. Then why are Attorneys insisting on the opposite (H1b against EAD?)

I think they prefer for us to be on H1 rather than on EAD because its easy to travel in & out of the country if you are on H1. If you use EAD then one has to use travel doucments which technically is to be used in an emergency. This is just my opinion!!

Thanks to the glorious service of the Atlanta center :mad: I missed the I-485 bus by 7 days( Labor cleared on Aug end ). Many people with later PD's got cleared from the Chicago PERM center . Now I just watch as all members get their EAD's and AP's while I wait with nothing but hope and watch legislation after legislation fail in the senate and house , and the letters flying all over the place .
Very SAD to know that you missed the opportunity to file AOS by 7 days. I know how painful it can be.
Do you know of any efforts to speed up the ATL PERM processing ? I see the graph at has a downward trend lately (less average time for approval).

A cut-off date avoids submission of AOS applications with PD after cut-off date. In my opinion, this was the only reason to retrogress on July 2: avoid AOS submission whose PDs became current in July.
Now nearly all AOS applications have been submitted. Hence, setting cut-off dates conservatively is not that motivating.
If let us say 20,000 visas were unallocated in 2007 and USCIS realized that on the 28th of September, 2007, they still wont be able to use up those 20,000 visas. Because the priority dates were pushed back so far that there probably isn't that many applications that have completed the fingerprinting and name check stage. So, we have another reason to believe that USCIS may not be able to use up all the visa numbers just because of the priority dates (even if they worked throughout the weekend).

Preparing for future is one thing but if you think that this is a valuable thread then go with it and enjoy, i just find it disheartening that people are trying to undermine whatever has been achieved by such threads (Like i said, he might be completely right but is there a need to tell it this way) and what are you going to prepare for the future ;) Do you know it ? We applied on 8th Aug for AP; Got receipts with receipt date of 13th Sep from NSC. I got my AP approved on 14th Nov. but we are waiting on My wife's AP since. Haven't received it.
So we are planning to get our H1/H4 stamped and travel without AP. My Lawyer thinks it shouldn't be a problem

Me and my wife's 485s had LUDS on 2/18, 2/19 and 2/20. But no status change, and we know for sure we should be getting atleast one RFE. When we applied in July 07 we could not include my Wife's medical/vaccination reports with the application, but no RFE for that yet.

My friend, "USA point of view is multinational executives can potentially create jobs", but the reality is the other way round. They are here to to make the transition happen from Onshore to Offshore. I have complete knowledge on how this EB1 thing works , as I was one of them once upon a time before taking up my current job.

You pay the dues, you get benefits.
Just like any other organization, since charitable donations are not enough to sustain an organization where the end-goal isn't really charity, imho.
As far as code and prod is concerned, IV itself is not PROD as an organization just yet. We're a loosely-knit community of folks who want to work towards a common goal for out own benefit.
If 25,000 or whatever number we're at pay/contribute/donate (whatever you want to call it) 20/50/100 $/year for "membership", we'll have a better shot at going "PROD", sustaining the infrastructure and the spirit.. and perhaps achieve our goals, imo again. :)

I agree GC makes a difference. If anyone as EAD thats as good as GC subject to your primany job not changing. So why not do side -business on EAD while your primary job is ON. Take it easy at job, dont overwork because without GC rarely people get promoted, if they are not extra-ordinary!
Going to XYZ place because of no GC does not make sense. If you have potential you can use it here on EAD not necessarily in another country!
