I am still not sure, if its considered 8+2=10 months to complete the PERM labor or we should just consider 2 months from start. Every application should go through the first part of it ( in this case 8 months). Right?

I'm wondering how many are still awaiting advanced parole? I am travelling in a months time, and do intend to go for H1 stamping but at the same time expecting my AP to come through before I leave. Whats up with this delay? Anyone else in the same situation? Please respond.

Yes, you are right. It is from beginning of PERM.
So, total number in PERM labors are 144K. Thats good, not many.
So, so if we have 150K BEC cases also, it is 300K for primary and 600K-700K total for 485s.
The report shows 144,000 between March 28, 2005 - June 1, 2007. This is not bad as we all are thinking

Please share your experiences if you renewed your NJ DL with EAD renewal notice.
My nj dl is due for renewal. I have applied for EAD renewal. I have the receipt notice and am working on EAD.

I assume you want to renew DL based on the receipt notice for your EAD renewal not the valid EAD itself. If so, I know the Edison DMV located on kilmer rd (near edison train st) gives you 6 mo. renewal... I got it from them in dec based on my h1 rcpt notice...
If you have a valid ead, then they'd renew your DL till the expiry shown on EAD.

Why do you think this is misleading? If you look at the date of the post, then the monday should be the following monday from that date which passed long time back. Let me know exacly what misled you, i may try to re-interpret if need be.
It is upto you to conclude who is right and who is wrong and nobody here is warning him because he is junior.
I have politely warned him, because i thought it was the right thing to do because of this discussion going in the wrong direction. I complained the adminstrator and moderator becuase that was the only tool available to me. Whatz wrong in this approach?

I just logged in thinking that by Monday, we July 2nd filers wud be getting receipts. But after flipping the pages back on this forum, I saw that the Monday was indeed the previous one. This is indeed misleading. After seeing the ongoing tussle between buddyinus and Srikondo, I realised Buddyinus is right. Whats wrong in whatever he's saying??? The purpose of this thread is to discuss about the so called Monday's receipts. But since that Monday is gone, looks like u r fighting over nothing. How dare u warn anybody on this thread. I am with Buddyinus on this. He may be a junior but u dont have any rights to warn him. Beware.

Loosing my investments
Since I am sure that my GC will take 5 to 10 years more. Meanwhile too many things will change that might make me go back home. So I decided to invest in home(India). I sold lot of stocks. Stopped contributing to 401K above employers match (I used to contribute full 15K). Deferred buying house until my 140 approved.
I am at a life stage where I have enough experience and tendency to take risks (married but no kids etc...). If I have flexibility of not working, I want to invest my time in a small startup. Working/investing a start-up means I might go out of status anytime. So I decided not to try any of those. Its a loss for me as well as for economy. If I accumulate enough money I might go home and try to do something like startup or small business. It would be good for US and me if they let me do it here.
In essence I am loosing the oppurtunity and by restricting my career US is loosing an oppurtunity to create more jobs.
Why is loosing such a loosely used word?. Guys, it is losing not loosing. Lose and loose have different meanings.

There is no way of indicating which Service Center you want your case adjudicated at. Once the receipt notices are received you will know where your case is pending. All family based adjustment of status applications are filed at the National Benefits Center.

I don't know what to tell you guys.. I'm surprised to see how some people's thought process work.
I have no Idea what's wrong in requesting USCIS to release some data which would tell how many applications they received of which chargeability and in which EB categories’ This is the only information needed to stop predicting, everybody here can make almost exact estimate when they can expect their application Adjudicated. And also in the mean time they should provide us assurance that they will issue EADs and APs in less than 90 days. We are in a foreign country and we need to travel to our home countries, if we are stuck with 1 year approvals our file is always in process, how do you plan a trip ???
Death in the family is the only reason they recognize as urgency for travel.
We are Humans, we have family back in our home countries, marriage in the family or family visit is also urgent..
To ask this you don’t need citizen rights you are asking a public agency a service which they are supposed to provide and they are charging us to do that...

Here is my point. I spend several hours 3-4 hours at least every day looking through the forum posts hoping to find ways i can contribute to efforts. There are several ideas that are generated in the forum. But cannot find out who is leading it. All i am saying is if we can have a listing of initiatives with some names associated. So i can contribute to the ones that i can support. I am not sure if i am asking for too much here. I am not a IT guy. I do not know what it takes to post it in the front page.

OK here is a question.
Person working for past 4 years in the US.
Applied LC this February (2/26/07)
wants to go to canada and then reenter may be next year.
According to the new point based GC system--
1) Will the person get points for the 4 years of work in the US? (those 4 years were continuous, however, the person applies for GC after the canadian break of lets say 1 year)

My EAD was delayed by USCIS and on local congressman's demand USCIS immediately processed it.

Instead of doing all of this, First, if we able to make every one just take one day off from work on the same day through out the USA and let our employers and the press knows that we are doing this to show about our issues. We do not need to go on rally. At least if we take off on the same day through out USA to make sure people understand about our issues and our sufferings. I am not sure how it will help. At least if we make it to be notified by the government, .press, our employers. and the public about our issues.
