Thanks to everyone who have already sent emails to Ombudsman. We need to do more to get positive results, please go to: http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=22182 and send those 4 letters.
Others who have not yet acted on this, please go to that thread; download the 4 letters and mail them.
As many people mentioned here and other web sites, the denials are continuing and we need to act now to stop this before it gets even worse.

How insane am I? How insane are u? If it was not the USCIS, u wudn't have put ur foot into this country using ur H1B visa. U r in a foreign land and u want things happen like at the snap of ur finger? U think immigration is the only issue US has. U donno nothing about other issues the Govt is facing. If u dont like the administration...just get out. How in the world can a foreigner think about changing USCIS management process? What rights do u have? U cant even vote and u want to change the management process of a Govt body. U think u r a citizen and have all the rights. Kudos to the US Govt for making us feel at home and letting us talk like this. IV can fight upto some extent by the kind of campaigns they are hosting. But its USCIS' prerogative what they want to do. In the first place IV is fighting for Employment Based GCs. The fight which should actually be fought by Employers and above all ppl like u have the audacity to talk about the irregular management in USCIS and even going to the extent of changing it. And they took the shortest and safest way out? U think they wudn't have gotten away by NOT letting u have ur EAD now? U must be from India where there is lot of corruption. How wud u feel if US citizens came to India and propose a change in the Government. US citizens who are immigrants in India - Did u even think about it? U dont even know how to think properly. I will still say...SHAME ON U.
Are you saying that USCIS bestowed up on every EB based immigrant with H1B visas and did all of us a huge favor? The simple point is there is a need and all of us happened to be the applicants. If there was never a need, none of us would have been here, irrespective of how many applications came in. People immigrate to US because there is more predictability and accountability in all walks of life when compared to other countries. Lately that has been changing for what ever reasons in the US, while other countries are emulating US's past success formula. There is a difference between in thought process of "deserve it" or "will take what ever I am given". Its not the US government that is letting any one talk. The underpinning principles of this country that make people talk. I think people on the forum are asking for some predictability and accountability after years of mishaps. If you feel that you have no rights what so ever thats fine. It appears a bit premature to say and "We have NO RIGHTS WHATSOEVER to ask for ".

Guys,
When USCIS will release the report which shows number of pending apps per country and overall. With that we can see how many numbers per category and per country are used.
Is it now or in Jan?

They most of the approvals are of US Master degree and above as it is straight fwd EB2 no need to verify skill set etc..

Looks like IRS is not going to give us back 1200$ as part of the stimulus package,which they were planning to earlier.

Both people listed on a "married filing jointly" return must have valid SSNs to qualify for the payment — if only one has a valid SSN, neither can receive the payment.
Not eligible at the current time? If your circumstances change and you become eligible after you file your 2007 federal tax return, you can always file an amended return using Form 1040X. If you're not eligible this year but you become eligible next year, you can claim the economic stimulus payment next year on your 2008 tax return.
A very cheap attempt at sensationalism, if that's what your intention was. But if you really are clueless about this issue, then here are the facts:
There are several thousands of H-1Bs and GC aspirants who have SSNs for themselves and their spouses. This stimulus package will give rebates to these thousands so long as their AGI allows for it. Also, all H-1Bs are eligible for their rebate since they would have SSNs. It is only when their non-working spouse (H-4) does not have a SSN that the H-1B holder becomes ineligible.
Thus, the title of your thread is misleading. Change the title to "No Stimulus Package to H-1Bs whose spouses do not have SSNs". And again, this is not targetting H-1Bs or GC aspirants. Any US resident without a SSN is ineligible for the stimulus package.

They voted YES to include amendment to eliminate EB visa cap for Nurses (India, PHI)
Will send the Nursing comm into raptures if it finall passes into law. Strong indications that it will make it. Of course that will have major impact on EB3 numbers, I guess

I fully support this donor forum. there should be some incentive for members who donate. they are not doing it because they have lots of money to spare, but they sacrifice because they believe in this cause. I don't think $25 is going to break anyone's bank. Just sacrifice something that you consume/enjoy every week, and donate that.
It's a pity that even with about 25K members, we cannot raise a minimal amount. People need to realize they cannot simply enjoy the benefits of someone else's labor.
Yes. I agree. We had to do this because we saw that even after running a drive for FOIA that helps every member we could not reach the goal yet. This data will be sought by all of us but if we are not ready to support the effort, it will be tough to invest in it. The subscriptions will help us continue IV initiatives with more zeal and we will know that a lot of members support us.

It is easy and potentially justifiable to feel some frustration. As it relates to the green card, I am in a similar situation to most who visit and share their views on this board.
I view the Universe and everything that is contained therein to be perfect - there can be no imperfections. I find comfort in that thought and focus my attention on the following:
feeling grateful for all that I have; doing my work to the best of my ability; taking the risks I believe I should take; being resilient; enjoying my life more; being patient; caring more; comparing less
