i recently got H1 Extension stamping ( Till 2011 ) and also have AP Expires in Nov 2008 .
I am working on H1 and not interested to use EAD .Do i still need to renew my EAD and AP?

just a tip not cool to hijack someone else' thread. on your question: If you are planning on being with the H1 sponsoring employer for the next few years no point renewing your EAD or AP. However they are two seperate filings. You don't need to have a valid EAD in order to apply for an AP renewal or vice versa. Hope this helps.

Currently I am on H1-B Status and for the 6 years term to complete I have 4 more months. The I-94 date on is September 4, 2011. However, I do have a remainder period of 38 days due to vacation (which is October 12, 2011), but will have to apply for same.
I want to continue to stay in USA. I feel that if I can get the F1 status (Student visa) I could able to continue stay here for another 1 more year.
Need help from any knowledgeable lawyer or forum visitors who can assit me in exactly how best and early I can get into F1 status.
Answers via Cell phone calls are also welcome.

Hi Guys,
My sis recently changed her status successfully from B1 to H1. After the approval however (within 10-20 days), we saw soft LUDs on her previous H1 petitions (they were both with the same employer). The status hasn't changed however.
Has anyone experienced such a case?
One more thing - she had done her AR-11 address change online about a month ago. Could that have triggered these soft LUDs? If so, will they even go and change the address on petitions approved in the past?
Any inputs appreciated. Thanks.

I have filed two different I-140s for EB2-NIW (NSC, Nov 06)) and EB1-EA (TSC, march07). Both are pending at the moment. I wish to apply for I-485 now as the visa numbers are current in both categories.
I will appreciate if some one could advise if I can go ahead with the filing with pending I-140s. Also in that case can I file a single I-485 now and just ask it to be linked to whichever I-140 is approved first. will this work?
In this case whcih 140 number should I mention in my application and whcih center should I send the application to?

depends on state law, WA state does not consider H4 as a resident, just found out a month ago, when my wife finished all the tests and everything else and found she had to pay non resident tuition. So she decided not to go to school. CA considers H4 as a resident provided all other criteria are met.

Fact: My family members MUST travel to Europe this summer.
Fact: My extension I-129 for a renewed L1A must be submitted to USCIS no later than 6 weeks before 9/5/08.
Fact: I have L1A visa stamp and family have L2 visa stamps with expiration date 9/5/08 in our passports
Question:
How late is the latest my family members can enter US without encountering trouble at the border?
They need to be present in the US to submit the I-539 (extension of stay), but can it be submitted AFTER my I-129 or MUST they be submitted at the same time as an absolute rule?
Please advise.

My wife was laid off a couple of days ago. She has efiled H1->H4 status change application which recommended by HR. However she needs out of USA because of family issue next month. She has valid AP.
Here my questions:
When she travel outside of U.S. before the H1-> H4 change application is approved, her application for status change is automatically canceled/invalid. Is that true?
2. She only could use AP to re-enter USA. She needs to resubmit H1->H4 after she back USA. Should she cancel the previous one? If any effect on her I-485 application?
3. Is any premium process for H1->H4?

I am from India.I am on H4(dependent visa),with a stamped expiry date of May 7,2010 on my H4 visa and I-94.I got a J1 offer for further studies in USA.Till I get my required documents for J1 visa,I am guessing it will be beyond this date.My husband has already applied for his visa extension.

Filing campaign finance reports electronically has been standard operating procedure for candidates for the House of Representatives and the White House for years -- as it has been for political parties, political action committees and "527" groups. Yet Senate candidates are still trudging down to the Senate Office of Public Records with paper copies of their reports, which are then passed along to the Federal Election Commission, which sends them to a vendor that punches in the information and zaps it back to the FEC electronically. That finally makes them widely available, sometimes too late for voters to see who's donating to whom and how the money is being spent. With this seeming fear of modernity, it's a wonder the Senate isn't calculating budgets with an abacus. Or is it a fear of disclosure?
After the bill was blocked, Ms. Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, said, "It is very hard for me to understand who could oppose this and what their reason for opposing it could be." Russell Feingold (D-Wis.) first brought the bill to the floor last week, though, he was told that an unnamed lawmaker objected.
Long-standing Senate custom allows the objection of a single senator to stop a bill in its tracks -- it's known as a secret hold. A measure that passed the Senate earlier this year, and awaits a House vote, would eliminate the practice.
The hold unleashed a torrent of activity on the Internet, as bloggers tried to flush out the identity of the senator responsible for the hold. But after an onslaught of phone calls to Senate offices, the bloggers have no answer. No one owned up to being the culprit.
Yesterday, the bill's sponsor tried again. And again, the Republican floor leader objected. A spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said he is sure the name of the secret senator is known "in the cloakroom," but he said that misses the point.
"A hold can't stop something from coming to the floor," Don Stewart said. "It can only stop it from being pushed through without a full and open debate on the bill."
That's true -- sponsors had been trying to pass the bill by unanimous consent, which does not permit amendment or debate. But Feingold told the liberal blog Daily Kos that the path was typical for a bill with 35 bipartisan co-sponsors that did not elicit a single objection in committee.
Writing on the blog yesterday, Feingold said: "The fact is that someone anonymously blocked the bill, . . . that person has made no effort to resolve his or her concerns with us, and the Republican leadership won't even tell us who that person is."

For people on EAD/AP apart from Fedral Loan what are the Avenues of getting Aid..also I learnt that its difficult to get Aid if you are part time..

I definitely want to see other D2x vs. 1DsMkII tests before making any conclusions about the resolution, but even assuming the 1DsMkII holds the advantage, I'm certain that it won't be visible in real world prints that aren't at extreme sizes. That was a fairly good review, anyway. :)
